  • As a turnkey developer, Civic Builders manages all aspects of the development process from start to finish. This includes Civic Builders has playing a critical role in developing affordable financial packages for charter school operators of various age and size.

  • As an owner’s representative, Civic Builders advises the school on technical decisions throughout the development process. 

Tax Credit Financing

New Market Tax Credits (NMTCs) are a federal subsidy program created to attract private capital to low-income, economically-distressed communities.

  • Since Civic Builders’ first NMTC transaction in 2007, we have closed on more than $160 million of NMTC transactions across our portfolio, using $38 million of our own allocation of NMTCs .

  • Civic Builders has applied for next round of tax credits. Awards for this next round are expected to be announced in Summer 2016.

 2016 Facilities Loan Fund

Civic Builders’ is launching a 2016 Facilities Loan Fund to provide charter school operators with affordable financing options for real estate projects.

  • The 2016 Facilities Loan Fund is available for charter school operators seeking low-interest loans of up to $2 million.

  • The Loan Fund will offer the following types of low-interest loan options: pre-development, acquisition, construction, renovation, and bridge financing.
